A star raider, Surjeet Narwal, has been an asset for Dabang Delhi. Known as the “Flying Machine” due to his ability to jump very high, Narwal enthralled spectators with his ability during the first edition. He was one of the top 5 raiders last year, grabbing 113 points for Delhi. The 25-year-old received a shot in the arm after winning the gold medal at the 2014 Incheon Asian Games, his first gold after making his senior debut in 2010.Hailing from Sonipat which has produced quality Indian players such as Om Prakash, Jagdish and Sonu Narwal, Surjeet is keen to carry forward the legacy in the 2^nd season of Pro Kabaddi. A fantastic raider, Narwal is a force to reckon with and will prove to be a nightmare for the defenders of the opposition teams. Last but not the least, Surjeet this time will have the support of his lady luck, Mrs. Rachna Narwal from March.  

An explosive captain blessed with an aggressive allround game, 32-year-old Jasmer Gulia is the cohesive force that not only binds his team together but also inspires them to bring their best on the mat. A believer of power game, Jasmer is a fierce fighter, who terrifies the raider from stealing a bonus point from him. A superb defender, he has secured 39 points for Delhi in the first edition of PKL.A true champion of sportsmanship, Jasmer’s sparkling resume boosts of a gold medal in SAF Games 2006, Asian Games 2010 & recent gold medalist in National Games & India Police Games, 2015. A resident of Bursham, Panipat, Jasmer started his journey as a nine year old and became the first player from his district to earn a berth in the Indian national team in 2005. As a kid, Jasmer used to play seasonal sports but he turned his focus on kabaddi after his elder brother, also an aspiring Kabaddi player, had to give up the sport due to family issues.  

A star performer, Kashiling Adake is a bundle of irrepressible energy on the mat. His remarkable agility and limitless hunger has made him a prized possession for Dabang Delhi.  He has proved to be a top raider, securing 113 points for Delhi during the first edition of PKL. He was especially brilliant during the matches against Bengal Warriors, wining the Best Raider award with 14 Raid Points.Born in a sports family, Adake could have followed his father and become a wrestler but it was kabaddi that stole his heart. This Marathi decided to take up the game seriously with the unflinching support of his family, especially his mother, who remains his anchor.Hailing from the Kasegaon district of Sangli, Adake approached the game with unflinching dedication and showcased his talent in the domestic League besides producing enthralling performance at an international level, such as the Asian Beach Kabaddi 2014. He remains a star attraction for Dabang Delhi as they gear up for the second edition of PKL.

The young and energetic, Rohit Kumar, who specializes in back kick and the power game, is a new recruit in the Dabang Delhi team. The 22-year-old raider from Bijnor picked up the sport as a hobby before deciding to turn professional which fetched him a job at the Army and earned him a bronze at the Senior Nationals in 2010. Blessed with a good footwork and ability to wriggle out of tough situation, Rohit believes in taking out the entire hive of defenders while entering in the rival court. He has already got accustomed to the playing techniques of the team as he has played with the existing pool of players during the camps and knows them very well. Rohit won many medals in Kabaddi and has inspired kids, including his cousin who played at the junior nationals and senior states, in his village to take up the sport seriously. Rohit now represents Delhi kabaddi team in the Nationals and could prove to be a game changer for Dabang Delhi this season.

A superlative defender, Amit Singh Chillar has proved his mettle many times for Dabang Delhi in the first edition of PKL. He is always on the lookout for seizing a moment of weakness from rival raiders and well-equipped to defend the fortress. He finished as one of the top 10 defenders with 29 points in the first edition.Hailing from the kabaddi capital of India, Nizampur, Amit was recruited as a left corner specialist for Dabang Delhi and the 24 year old did not disappoint as he clinched the best moment once and also bagged the best defender award twice in the inaugural season last year.Famous for his back hold which gives him a thrill in lifting the rival raiders to stop them from returning home, Amit also possess swift fingers which allows him to get the crucial touches while raiding and earn his team crucial points.

A new member of Dabang Delhi family, Avnish Kumar is a bundle of talent, who has the distinction of being the junior national champion for five consecutive years and clinching the bronze medal thrice as part of the UP senior team in senior nationals for the last 3 years. He is known for his ability to knock out a cover by sliding and his back hold is rock solid. His all-round game caught the attention of Dabang Delhi, who recruited him to take care of the Right Corner and tackle raids from the left.Hailing from Kakda Gaon in Muzaffarnagar district, Avnish started playing Kabaddi when he was in the 6^th standard. The 26-year-old, also commonly known as Sunny, picked up the game when seniors from his village used to take him along during their matches. But his main inspiration came from elder brother Navin Kumar, who also used to play Kabaddi and currently works at CISF. Avnish wants to dedicate his success to his brother who has been a pillar of strength for him.

One of the most consistent performers for Dabang Delhi, Shrikant Twethia is a superb allrounder, who has always fit in the role that the team has decided for him. Starting his journey from the muddy fields of Pakharpur in 2006, Shrikant has come a long way and he remains a vital cog in Delhi’s wheels this season.Affectionately known as Monu, the 23-year-old lad has set exceptionally high standard for the team on the mat. A BSC second year student, Shrikant considers Dabang Delhi his family and Surjeet Narwal as his best friend. This Dabangi allrounder is looking forward to taking the team to new heights this season. 

A CRPF jawan, Inderpal Bishnoi is not only an excellent kabaddi player but also a gold medalist in basketball. Following his brother’s footsteps, Inderpal started playing the game in his teens and soon realized his love for kabaddi. He decided to take up kabaddi seriously and soon began playing in the nationals. With one son already inclined towards sports, Inderpal’s family had no qualms in letting him pursue his dreams instead of the family business. He possesses a solid allround game which can create a lot of trouble for his oppositions. Fondly nicknamed ‘Bishnoi’ by his teammates, the all rounder is looking forward to prove his mettle at the PKL this season.

A deft defender, Rakesh Kumar can tackle even the fiercest of opponents by pinning them down and assumes an important role for Dabang Delhi. The only player from his village, Kaithal, to enter the PKL, Rakesh started playing kabaddi after being encouraged by his father and brother. However his journey wasn’t easy. Left out from the under 14 kabaddi team, Rakesh used to regularly visit the field to watch the team play. Touched by his determination, the coach put him in the team and he didn’t disappoint as he went on to represent Haryana in the junior as well as senior Nationals, bringing laurels and respect for the state. Rakesh or Raka, as they call him, has earned tremendous respect after his stint in the first edition. His foray into PKL inspired many kids, including his nephew to take the game seriously. He credits first edition of PKL for making him a stronger player and is looking forward to give it back to the team by performing his best this season.

A formidable raider, Dadaso Balaso Awad is a six time gold medalist in State Championships. Famous for his dives, Dadaso exhibits power and determination in his game and has been a prized possession for Dabang Delhi. The 28-year-old started playing kabaddi when he was in class 6 and with time made me a big splash in the sport.His love for kabaddi is so strong that he not only plays in the PKL but also owns a kabaddi franchise, Baramati Hurricanes, in the MahaKabaddi League. While he gears up for his second stint in the Pro Kabaddi League, back home his team will play its first semi final. The Maharashtrian is a philanthropic at heart and has helped many orphans with their education and also trains kids to play kabaddi.

Touted as the ‘wall’ of Dabang defense, Ravinder Pahal is known for his strong ankle hold and his ability in uprooting the raiders of their feet as he defends the right corner of the mat for Dabang Delhi. Placed among the top 10 defenders last season, Ravinder secured 31 points for his team. He has been representing Haryana in the Nationals since 2011 and has won Gold medal at the Kerala National Games in 2015. The 24-year-old picked up Kabaddi from his father, who could not pursue the sport due to unavoidable situations in life. Initially his light weight caused him trouble but a determined Pahal worked on his diet to get the desired physique for this hard contact sport. Hailing from Sonipat, he is living his father’s dream. Fondly known as Binda, Pahal has inspired a lot of kids to take up the sport ever since making his debut at PKL last year. One of his most cherished moments was when he won the best defender and moment award in one of the matches.

Another addition to the Dabang Delhi family is the young and skillful Sandeep Tomar. He might be just 21 years old but he already has three glittering medals in his kitty. Hailing from Baghpat district of UP, Sandeep is a skillful raider who can change the whole tempo of the game in minutes. A fan of Surjeet Narwal, Sandeep might make his debut in the League this season and might turn the star for Dabang Delhi in PKL. The young Raider, who finds inspiration in India captain Rakesh Kumar, believes in what his coach says “Tight khelo, jeemann se khelo isse ka naam kabaddi hai.” A student of second year, Tomar had to miss his exams to be a part of the team and he might take the team to new heights this season.

A talented left corner, Rajeev Kumar will make his maiden appearance in PKL for Dabang Delhi this season. Inspired by his elder brother’s stint on the field, Rajeev started playing kabaddi at a very young age. Hailing from Shamli district of UP, the 28-year-old eventually went on to participate at various National tournaments and remains a strong force in the Delhi team.Rajeev idealizes ace player Sanjiv Baliyan, with whom he has played for three consecutive years. A die-hard Amitabh Bachchan fan, Rajeev is not only excited to make his debut in the league this season but also determined to excel.

A versatile defender, G S Manikanta will don the colours of Dabang Delhi in the second edition of PKL. Known for his dashing style of defending, Manikanta can play in both right and left corner and is given the nickname “Mundappa Das” in his village due to his ability of using the head as a weapon while dashing. Hailing from Thoothukudi, Manikanta started playing Kabaddi in 2005. The 26 year old has been playing at Junior Nationals and Senior Nationals since 2010 and was adjudged the best defender in the All India Inter Department Tournament, 2013. Immensely supported by his parents, Manikanta got glued to the game while watching other players during the first edition of PKL. He felt inspired after watching statemate D. Suresh Kumar’s stint with Patna Pirates. Manikanta likes’ Suresh style of defending and aspire to play like him. A big fan of Jackie Chan, he dreams of making a name in Kabaddi and believes PKL and Dabang Delhi is the right platform.

Hailing from the city of ghats - Banaras, Veer Singh Yadav is a new recruit in the Dabang Delhi squad. He started playing kabaddi in 2007 and within two years bagged his first gold while representing the country in Junior Nationals, 2009. Affectionately known as Pintu, Veer chose kabaddi over other sports because he believes that success or failure in kabaddi completely depend on one’s hard work. His dedication towards the sport ensured him a job at the Indian Tibet Border Police (ITBP).  This flying touch specialist is a dear friend of Rahul (Telagu Titians) and awaits the challenge from his friend on mat. An exceptional raider, he feels that Pro Kabaddi League will be his life changing moment and will help him polish his skills.

If you take a look at 31 year old Jay Bahadur from Nepal, he will look like any ordinary person. However, few people would realize that he represents Nepal at the international level in Kabaddi and is an Armyman. Hailing from Kanchanpur near Uttarakhand border in Nepal, Jay will be donning the red jersey in Season 2 of PKL. He picked up the sport during his childhood and is now a renowned raider in Nepal having adjudged best player in National Games. He is a fast attacker and tends to jump like a lion when cornered. He intends to learn from Dabang Delhi and wants to become a better player. He also aims to carry all experiences back home and become an ambassador for grassroots initiatives of Dabang Delhi in Nepal.

Known for his height and speed which allows him to sneak past defenders in a flash, K. Selvamani is all set to mesmerize the crowd in Season 2 of PKL. Hailing from Salem in Tamilnadu, the new recruit in the Dabang Delhi team took up the sport when he was 16 year old. The lanky 23 year old always wanted to become a sportsman and mastered all the sports he took up. But it was the affection for Kabaddi which made him pursue the game more seriously. Scouted by head coach, Honnappa Gowda, Selvamani is master in getting bonus and reach out to defence. The B.Ed student at Annamalai University, Selvamani has also represented Tamilnadu in Senior Nationals.

One Asian Games, two SAF Games and three Asian Championship gold medals. That is not at all a bad resume for a player who became the 1st Karnataka resident to win the prestigious Arjuna Award in 2000. Here we are talking about none other than C Honnappa Gowda, former Indian Kabaddi captain and first kabaddi Arjuna awardee. The 42 year Bengaluru resident has been roped in as Chief Coach by Pro Kabaddi franchise, Dabang Delhi, to build a winning team and he could be the last piece of the puzzle that the franchise has been looking for. With history speaking for itself, the experience of Honnappa will be a key element in preparing the team for Season 2. On field, this fearsome all rounder is still remembered for defending the right corner and was master of tackles, holding chain, high hold, ankle hold, back hold and running ability while raiding. 

The mastermind and team principal for Dabang Delhi in Sesaon 1, Arjun Singh brings along with him expertise in the coaching and strategizing as history itself shows his high winning percentage at national and international level.After getting the required qualification to be a Kabaddi Coach, Arjun has led the UP State Team and the UP Police team to a bronze medal for 7 and 6 years respectively at the National Championships and the All India Bronze Game. The current junior coach of the Indian national team, Arjun’s junior team picked a gold medal in 2011-2012 at the Junior Asian championship at Malaysia. Arjun’s strength lies in his ability to determine situations before hand and ensures that his team goes through rigorous training to be physically fit. In short, Arjun is the backbone around whom the crux of the team is formed.

36 year old Dr. Sandeep Kumar joins Dabang Delhi in the role of a Sport Scientist. Dr. Sandeep has been roped in to take care of the diet and for physical & mental conditioning of the team. A Kabaddi player requires the skill sets of multiple sport disciplines, covering endurance, strength, agility and the mental prowess to take physical blows of an opponent. Dr. Sandeep is that critical element to cover all bases outside of the sports’ technical nuances. His portfolio consists of being the medical consultant to the junior and senior National Football Teams for both boys and girls. He has also been Head of Medical Team for ISL Franchise, FC Goa.

Russell Pinto has joined the Dabang Delhi squad in season of PKL in the role of a physiotherapist. The 25 year old is being roped in not only to cure injuries but also prevent them. He has already commenced with his task by introducing the concept of loop bands during warm up sessions which helps in toning up muscles before matches, thus avoiding unnecessary injuries.  Russell has previously worked with FC Goa during ISL and has also been part of the Indian National Football team and Salgaocar FC. The injuries in football and kabaddi are quite similar and Russell brings along with him the expertise that a player seeks to keep himself injury-free.
