30th April,New Delhi: Determined to bring home the Pro Kabaddi League crown home in the second edition of the tournament this year, Dabang Delhi kicked off their preparations for the tournament with a five-day high intensity camp at the Indira Gandhi stadium with a clear focus, initiating the process of identifying the final combination and easing in their new recruits.

With the sole objective of winning the hearts of the people associated with the game of Kabaddi and in line with the vision to promote sporting talent and to contribute towards the development of sports across the country. Dabang Delhi owned by DoIT Sports Management (India) Pvt. Ltd since the end of the first edition have been organising year round camps and talent scouting activities in rural belts of Haryana to unearth new talent as part of their grassroot initiatives.

DoIT Sports Management (India) Pvt. Ltd. are the pioneers of “Rurban” sports development. The sporting venture aims to improve sports infrastructure at grass-root levels in urban and rural India alike in order to inculcate sporting culture in the country and unearth talents.  Some of the talents were made part of the five day preparatory camp from April 25-30 along with the established stars like skipper Jasmer Singh, Surjeet Narwal, Ravinder Pahal and others.

Said, DoIT Sports Management Director Radha Kapoor, “The first year was a learning experience for us. But this time we have begun early. The camp was initiated with the focus on building a team and identifying talented players who can form the nucleus of the squad for season two.”

The team management has been extremely particular in providing all the necessary support to their players to ensure that they remain fit throughout the season and the camp provided a perfect opportunity to test the team’s preparation.

The coaching staff has picked 7-8 new faces to strengthen the squad after a year-long scouting process that included travelling to state and national events. The new recruits got a chance to make a mark at the camp and the coaching staff feels that they have found the missing links in the jigsaw puzzle. During the preparatory camp, Dabang Delhi players played matches against the Services and Air force teams.

Apart from concentrating on the top players, Dabang Delhi also got associated with the Kabaddi players and coaches to spread the game in the districts and in the sub junior level and the response to the initiative has been overwhelming.
A special clinic for 50 kids selected through the Dabang Delhi’s grassroots initiative for both boys and girls also saw the Dabang players spending time with the youngsters.

Dabang Delhi star raider, Surjeet Narwal said, " It feels good to come and share our experiences with these kids. Two-three years back, Kabaddi was not as popular at it is now and we feel really good to know that these kids are considering to pursue the sport."

Pro Kabaddi League season 2 is slated to start from July 2015.
